Jo West

Title: Owner
Company: Greenhouse West
Location: Mountain Home, ID United States

Born and raised a farm girl, Jo West has always loved nature. She pursues that passion as the owner of Greenhouse West, a family business that has been in operation for 20 years. The ‘home of the living tomato,’ as her company is called, specializes in a wide variety of pesticide-free tomatoes.

She ensures that her patients are well cared for, and get a smile or a hand to hold whenever they need it.

Company: WestEd
Location: Lincoln, CA United States

As a woman in today’s world, Janet Poole feels that her passion for her field has contributed to her success. She loves working with infants and toddlers, as do the people she works with at WestEd. Over the course of her career, Ms. Poole has co-owned and co-developed programs to help others understand early brain development in toddlers, with a focus on the first three years of life, and has created the largest system of caregivers for infants and toddlers. Currently, she is working on a campaign called For Our Babies, which she hopes to bring to the forefront of the industry. Built on the belief that the U.S. does not properly nurture brain development after birth, For Our Babies is a movement that promotes the healthy development of babies, and advocates for various environments and relationships that toddlers need to thrive. Ms. Poole is also involved in The Program for Infant/Toddler Care, which promotes relationship planning over lesson planning for children under the age of 3.
