Determined and passionate about science, Cheryl Gray has been in the medical field for the past three decades. She got her start in the industry while serving in the U.S. Army for six years; through them, she received formal education in radiology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center with extensive specialty training in angiography and mammography special procedures.
Upon leaving the military, Ms. Gray started her family and reentered the sales and service of x-ray equipment. She eventually opened up her own business to sale radiology equipment and supplies with a different mindset than before. Using consultations in regards to improving radiographic image quality for improved health care as a basis for sales and in her view ultimately improving healthcare with quality imaging products. In 2001 Ms. Gray opened her second business in which she was licensed by the State of Texas to educate her clients as a limited radiologic technologist. Through her many positions, Ms. Gray has direct experience with training, image consulting, equipment evaluation and performance expectancy for medical, chiropractic and veterinary professionals. Her companies, All Star X-ray, Inc. and All Star Education have directly served the Dallas Fort Worth area with radiology equipment, supplies, and training for 16 years.
Ms. Gray attended Prince George’s Community College in 1988, and continued her path to pre-med degree at the University of Texas at Arlington in 1996. She is certified in radiography, mammography and quality management through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. She is an active member of the North Texas Radiologic Technologist Society, Texas Society of Radiologic Technologists and The American Society of Radiologic Technologists. As a testament to her success, Ms. Gray was recognized among the top 25 technologists for excellence and leadership achievement by The North Texas Radiologic Technologists Society.
One of the highlights of Ms. Gray’s Army career was a departmental selection to take an x-ray of President George Herbert Bush’s hand. In 2013, she was afforded the opportunity to go to Western Ghana and install x-ray equipment at the Christina Adcock and Sons Hospital in Ateiku. Ms. Gray taught 13 Ghanaian men the Science of Radiology, Radiation Protection, Positioning and clinical use of the State of the Art Flat Panel Digital X-ray system. The trip to Ghana was the beginning of a journey for Ms. Gray to help people all over the world get the best medical benefits available. Less than 6 months later she attended another mission trip to the field of Uganda for 10 day medical clinic in the jungle. She hopes to continue her mission work, and maybe go to Johannesburg to assist with other opportunities for advancing immediate healthcare through imaging. Ms. Gray’s goal is to get state-of-the-art x-ray technology to all third world countries.
