Felicia Bassey-Akamune, MD, FAAP

Felicia Bassey-Akamune has wanted to be a doctor for as long as she can remember, so she set out in pursuit of her goals, first at the College of Medicine at the University of Lagos, and then at Howard University Hospital, where she completed her postgraduate residency training. Following the end of her academic journey, Ms. Bassey-Akamune landed a job at D.C. General Hospital as an attending physician in the emergency department. She also spent six years working as a consultant pediatrician to the U.S. Army at Kimbrough Ambulatory Center before moving on to her current endeavor. As the medical director and pediatrician of her own private practice, Milestone Medical Center, Ms. Bassey-Akamune is living her dream. She considers becoming an entrepreneur and opening a practice to be her greatest achievement.
