Carolyn L. Kessler, SP, Ph.D.

Dr. Carolyn Kessler has known since she was in high school that she wanted to be a teacher. Inspired by her strong support system, she pursued her passion, and spent the first 11 years of her career teaching chemistry and French at the high school level. It wasn’t until a Catholic Sister suggested she would be good at it that she stumbled upon linguistics and discovered how much she enjoyed it. Dr. Kessler naturally progressed from there, and ended up becoming a professor emeritus of linguistics at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Although she has since retired from that post, she intends to continue supporting the school and remain involved through the Retired Teachers Association at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Marilou V. Erb

Reasonable and logical, Marilou Erb has thrived in the legal profession. She served as a prosecutor for many years before receiving a call asking if she would teach a law class at York College of Pennsylvania. Ms. Erb agreed and ended up loving it. She has been with the school for 16 years now, where she teaches general and forensic psychology, as well as criminal justice as needed. Ms. Erb thinks being in this facet of her field is her greatest accomplishment yet; her post has allowed her to come full circle, expand her knowledge, and help students become successful on their own legal journeys. Students tell her that she is very accessible and that they feel comfortable coming to her with pretty much anything, which helps validate her choice.
