Christy MillerTitle: Chief Executive Officer
Company: BCL IT Consulting
Location: Westchester, OH United States

Not everyone can say they absolutely love their job, but Christy Miller can. Following in her father’s footsteps, she founded BCL IT Consulting, which is EDGE certified by the state of Ohio, in 2000 so that she can bring new technology and security solutions to clients. Through partnerships with architects, MEP firms, construction management and the end-user, Ms. Miller offers vendor-neutral solutions in the information and communications technology industry. She prides herself on her reputation for looking at all potential solutions to best serve her clients, and for never using a “cookie cutter” approach.

Prior to forming her own consultancy, Ms. Miller worked in a variety of positions. She started out as a receptionist, handling shipping and receiving, and worked her way up to running a multi-million dollar company. Since selling that business, Ms. Miller has worked for contractors, distributors, and a manufacturer of telecommunications equipment before combining her expertise and venturing out on her own. She attributes her success and longevity to her mentors, as well as the opportunity she’s had to learn the industry from the ground up.

Looking to the future, Ms. Miller hopes to retire from her position and take on more of an educational role. She is passionate about bringing more women and baby boomers into the industry, and is currently working on creating an educational platform that will allow a high school student to walk right into a career.
