Ms. Major-Kelly used her skills to open Major & Associates, where she took pride in fulfilling her life’s purpose of helping others. She also shares her knowledge through her full-time position as a professor at Strayer University, and serves as a member of the Maryland Bar Association and the J. Franklyn Bourne Bar Association. As a testament to her success, Ms. Major-Kelly received a prestigious award from the governor for her work with foreclosures in 2013.

Christy Stevens

After receiving both a bachelor’s and a master’s degrees in English literature, Christy Stevens began a career as an education reporter. As time went on, however, she found herself becoming more and more interested in helping the companies grow than reporting on them. She then spent two years as a public information officer for the Higley Unified School District, where she created and ran the district’s public and media relations, event promotion and crisis communication. In 2007, she moved to The SPR Agency, where she remains to this day.

As the vice president of public relations, social media and marketing, Ms. Stevens is responsible for working with the agency’s clients to build business and social media profiles and manage brands. Her greatest strength in this position is using a holistic approach to public relations. She likes starting simple, getting her clients involved with standard social media like Facebook and Twitter. Every day, she is inspired by the results The SPR Agency accomplishes, especially seeing smaller companies she has worked with grow.

Dagmar Glasman

When Dagmar Glasman divorced from her husband, she decided to leave everything behind, start over, and move from Germany to the United States at the age of 55. It was only then that she began Dagmar’s, a construction company based out of Bradenton, Florida.

Due to her previous experience in real estate, Ms. Glasman considers herself to be an expert in people skills and sales. She had previously owned her own business, which helped when she decided to start Dagmar’s. When she was still in Germany, her (then) husband worked with luxury cars, especially Porsches. She helped him with the buying, selling, marketing and detailing of the cars. Through this work, she knows all about classic luxury cars like Rolls Royce, Jaguars and Porsches. She also has a lot of knowledge about classic cars from 1914 to the 1980’s.

Janice K. Russell

After switching from engineering to accounting due to a love for numbers, Janice Russell worked in various finance manager and director positions before eventually settling into her position as finance director for Interstate Batteries in 2015. As the finance director, she must work with the president of distributor operations to ensure the overall success and growth of the company.

Ms. Russell is extremely proud of her ability to be a mother and have a successful career. She attributes this success to her perseverance and inner drive. As a woman in today’s world, Janice feels that developing relationships with the men she works with, and having a connection with them has also contributed to her success.  Ms. Russell’s mother worked as a police officer during the 1970’s, and seeing her mother succeed in a male-dominated field inspired her to strive to do the same.

A veteran of her industries, Margaret Donat has more than 40 years of experience as a scuba diver and a registered nurse. She is currently working as a chamber coordinator and RN for the Pacific Grover Hyperbaric Chamber, which is a hyperbaric facility that provides health care, education and training for hyperbaric crews. Prior to her current position, Ms. Donat served as a therapeutic apheresis nurse coordinator, a donor room nurse, a relief nurse at Kennolyn Specialty Camp, and pediatric medical assistant. She worked as a scuba instructor for several years in the 1970s and 1980s and has her teaching credentials as well.
