Passionate and hard working, Myra Borshoff is a well-known name in the public relations industry. In 1984, she founded Borshoff, which would eventually grow to become Indiana’s largest public relations and advertising firm. Although she retired in 2010, she stayed on the firm’s board until 2014, when she finally began a well-deserved retirement. Last year, however, she decided to start a new firm, MB Communications LLC, which is focused on public and media relations, especially crisis communications.
Ms. Borshoff holds a Bachelor of Science in secondary education, with a specialization in English and journalism from Ball State University. When she first started on her career path, she acquired a job at a bank, took advantage of their employee tuition reimbursement, and enrolled in classes in public relations. She fell in love with the field and got a job with a small firm. Eventually, she started her own firm, bought out her partner after three years, and continued to grow ever since.
As a woman in today’s world, Ms. Borshoff has found her strengths in communication, listening and problem solving to be extremely beneficial in her field of work. She is very proud of everything she has done to start and grow a business from the ground up. Borshoff started with just three people and eventually grew to more than 60 employees. She wants to be remembered for her dedication to her business and the great reputation it maintains to this day.
Ms. Borshoff’s commitment to her field has resulted in her earning recognition as a fellow with the PRSA. She was also named a Woman of Influence in 2011. She is excited to take on new clients, work on new projects and grow the new firm, but she is also looking forward to eventually retiring and staying retired so she can travel.
