An expert in helping students succeed and overcome their adversities, Valerie Bryan is a professor at Florida Atlantic University. She is a professor in educational leadership and research methodology and an eminent scholar in community education. With 30 years of experience under her belt, she is able to train students to enter her profession, and many of her students have become heads of colleges, nonprofits and other businesses.
Dr. Bryan holds an educational doctorate in educational leadership, with a specialization in adult and community education. She also has a Master of Arts in teaching in secondary school administration, and a Bachelor of Science in recreation and park administration. In correlation with her education and career, she is a member of the American Educational Research Association and the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education.
Always looking to help others, Dr. Bryan is constantly being inspired by seeing change within the community. She hopes to see a greater importance being placed on administrators in universities and colleges, as well as work to change the views of online education. She is also looking forward to publishing her second book and working with her students to co-author a book to get them involved in the writing process. Her many years at FAU have resulted in a number of awards and recognition, including a Graduate Mentor Award, Teacher of the Year, Academic Advisor of the Year and the Unsung Hero Award.
When she is not working, Dr. Bryan enjoys horseback riding, dancing and carpentry.
