Backed by four decades of experience in hospitality services management, Rowina Thomas is thriving as the hotelier of the Lyall Hotel. She is responsible for all marketing, planning and public relations for the boutique five-star hotel. Ms. Thomas also oversees all daily operations, and is responsible for the styling of the hotel and day spa. She is thrilled that her position is able to utilize her passion for the hospitality industry, as well as follow her interests in design, branding and wellness.

Ms. Thomas became involved in her profession when she was young. She received a degree in hotel management from Michigan State University, as well as obtained her certification in marketing. Always open to change, she had previously worked for Sydney Hilton, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and South Yarra Hill Suites before settling into her career with the Lyall Hotel. Over the years, her self-motivation and passion have led her down a path of success. Her drive and high standards have allowed her to see the hotel materialize since its conception and watch its global reputation grow. In fact, in 2012, the Lyall Hotel was named Australia’s Leading Boutique Hotel by The World Travel Awards. Ms. Thomas is eagerly looking forward to the future and experiencing continued growth.

She is a member of the Australian Society of Writers, HHoW, the Toorak Road South Yarra Association Inc. and the Luxury Network. She also supports the efforts of the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre. When she is not working, Ms. Thomas loves traveling and listening to music.
