Over the course of her 55-year career, Maureen Pastine honed her knowledge in libraries and library science, grant writing, teaching, research and library management. In her final position before retirement, she served as a grants administrator and grants writer for the Yavapai-Apache Nation in Camp Verde, Ariz., although she had previously worked as a high school English teacher and university library administrator.
To prepare for her endeavors, Ms. Pastine earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, with a minor in journalism and the arts, as well as a teaching certificate. She was also rewarded honorable doctorate and master’s degrees. Further, Ms. Pastine garnered experience fundraising more than $80 million with the help of library staff and donor executive boards for the academic libraries at institutions like the University of Nebraska at Omaha, San Jose State University, Washington State University and Temple University. Since then, she has continued to help raise funds and do consulting work for those who have asked for her assistance.
Ms. Pastine is a member of Beta Phi Mu, an international library science honor society, and Phi Kappa Phi, a national education honor society. She is looking forward to spending her retirement traveling with her husband.
