Penelope Carr has 30 years of experience in information technology, specifically with backup and disaster recovery and systems and storage management. For the past decade, she has been serving as a professional services consultant for NetApp. In this position, Ms. Carr is responsible for a number of installation, configuration and troubleshooting tasks with NetApp softwares and programs, as well as working closely with sales, technical and product departments, partners and customers. She also maintains a full understanding of customer’s core business processes so that she can recommend and design the proper data recoverability solutions, and works closely with NetApp University to review and create tests and test labs for classes.

As a woman in today’s world, Ms. Carr acknowledges that the success she has experienced in such a male-dominated field can be attributed to her ability to prove herself, as well as her ability to develop herself outside of her career. She also feels that having her husband to fall back on for support helped her greatly during her career. Outside of her current position, Ms. Carr volunteers with New York Cares and supports a variety of causes, including animal welfare, education, the environment, and human rights.
