Although Dr. Jeanne Mattern spent the first 31 years of her career working in academia, she eventually decided to focus on her passion for research and product development. She is now currently acting as the director of performance improvement and the privacy official for the contemporary behavioral and health organization, JFSA, also known as the Jewish Family Service Association of Cleveland. Prior to this position, she worked as an educator and a trainer. As a professor at a number of campuses, she was responsible for teaching at the medical school and serving as an assistant professor of medicine. She also sat on committees that drafted and created policy and procedure, as well as supervised an informatics team, and handled orientations for research.
Dr. Mattern received a Ph.D. in medical sociology from Case Western Reserve University, and is also a licensed social worker. She is also a member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). Dr. Mattern volunteers a lot of her time, and she currently sits on several boards of social service agencies and University Settlement.
