As the energy and economic development manager of Carolina Community Actions, Inc., Mary Gossett sees people who need her help, and they inspire her to continue working to meet their needs. After working in human services for several years, receiving training from the agency, attending seminars and several workshops, and becoming a certified instructor for family worker training, she found her current position to be the most natural fit.  Carolina Community Actions, Inc. is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to eradicate the causes and consequences of poverty. The organization works toward a public understanding of the causes and conditions of poverty, as well as creating programming to help those in need.

Ms. Gossett is very proud of her current position, as well as her position as the elected President of the SC Community Action Partnership. She is looking forward to retirement, where she intends on doing consulting work for an agency, and opening an area to help people. No matter what she is doing, she wants to be remembered for advocating for and helping people.

She is a member of the NAPW and the NEA, and supports the efforts of the United Way. She also enjoys reading and traveling.
