Title: Professor
Company: University of Phoenix
Location: Phoenix, AZ United States
In pursuit of a career that would allow her to help others, Debbie Barrett-Bryson received a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and also holds two master’s degrees in both nursing and education. She is also currently working on obtaining a Ph.D. In addition to her work as a nurse, she is also a professor at the University of Phoenix, where she teaches students preparing to become registered nurses. She is extremely passionate about teaching and passing on her knowledge and firsthand experience to her students. She is also a regional manager for United Health Care.
Every day, Ms. Barrett-Bryson finds inspiration in her students and their ability to apply what they have learned to their work and education. With that in mind, it is not surprising that the proudest moment in her career thus far was winning an award for mentoring and teaching from Nurse.com in 2013. She was also chosen to be a United States delegate in China to help with the infant mortality/morbidity rate. Additionally, she is a member of a member of the American Nurses Association, the Ohio Nurses Association, AWHONN and NAPW.
Ms. Barrett-Bryson wants to be remembered for her abilities and skills as a nurse. When she is not working, she enjoys traveling and going on cruises.
