Dorcas Eaves, MD

Title: Chief Executive Officer
Company: D.M. Eaves, MD, Inc.
Location: Trabuco Canyon, CA United States

With medical experience that spans more than 30 years, Dorcas Eaves is currently a practicing trauma surgeon at an urgent care facility in Orange County, California. She is affiliated with Quest-Rancho Santa Margarita, Lake Forest Nursing Center and Mission Hospital. In addition, she  joined the Army Reserves and was deployed to Afghanistan.

Even as a child, Dr. Eaves knew she wanted to be a doctor and help people. She attended the University of Massachusetts Boston, where she received a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry. She then attended the Boston University School of Medicine, receiving her medical doctorate in 1977. When she joined the reserves, she attended the U.S. Army War College, where she obtained a master’s degree in strategic studies.

With her many years of medical practice, Dr. Eaves attributes her success to her perseverance. She is committed to excellence, duty, honor and integrity, but even more, she loves what she does. Her greatest achievement in her professional career happened when she was chief resident. A young man came in with a forklift injury, and she thought he was going to lose his limb. However, after 12 hours in the OR, the surgical team saved it. He walked out of the hospital with his family six weeks later. Personally, she names raising her daughter—who is now an attorney—as a great accomplishment.

Dr. Eaves is currently focusing on transitioning to cosmetic surgery for the general public. She wants to help others feel better about themselves, even if it means doing something as simple as improving scars. Outside of work, she supports women’s shelters, and enjoys jogging, reading and spending time with her grandson.
