After working as the vice president of marketing and sales for Durkan Patterned Carpet for more than 20 years, Tara Durkan built the fragrance company Dossage, where she has been the chief executive officer and brand founder for four years. With her expertise in sales and her tenacity, she was inspired to create the fragrances by love, travel and a sense of adventure. The company’s line consists of four perfumes, and has expanded to candles as well.

Ms. Durkan’s commitment to her brand has been recognized with a number of awards, including the 2013-2014 Woman of the Year for Excellence and Dedication in the Fragrance Industry, the National Association of Professional Women’s 2013 Woman of the Year and the International Women’s Leadership Association’s 2012 Woman of Outstanding Leadership. She is also a member of the Fragrance Foundation, Cosmetic Executive Women and Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors. Looking to the future of Dossage, Ms. Durkan intends to expand the company’s market and obtain more clients. When she is not working, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, listening to music, watching movies and enjoying the arts.
