Passionate about people and culture, Catherine Jodar is an international communication expert who provides savvy and effective language training for executives and professionals who work with international teams. She founded Language Advantage Inc. in 1999 with the goal of connecting people through communication. Ms. Jodar also channels her belief that learning a language is much more than vocabulary and grammar into her business. Thusly, she has created specialized programs encompassing both language and cultural skills training, designed to meet the specific needs of each client. This will help businesses gain and sustain their competitive edge and increase productivity.

The biggest challenges Ms. Jodar faces have been maximizing her exposure and marketing. She hopes to eventually bring someone in to help with networking and growth, but she has still managed to be successful in the meantime. In the past 15 years, Language Advantage has grown to include a team of 24 highly-qualified personal coaches in two locations: downtown Toronto and Montreal. Ms. Jodar considers her greatest strength to be assessing each client’s individual needs and matching them with the right instructor for the maximum benefit.  As a testament to her achievements, Ms. Jodar is often asked to write and speak about issues facing multinational executives who have to deal with the challenges of working in a foreign language.  She was also recognized in 2006 by the Association of Professors Hispano-Canadian and OISE with an award of merit for her contribution to adult education. Ms. Jodar hopes to be remembered as a very passionate and caring person who empowered others while setting a good example and being a role model.
