Alicia Williams is the D/MWBE program manager for the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, a position she has held for more than 10 years. There, she helps to manage the program, works to expand and foster relationships with partners and stockholders, and monitors D/MWBE’s Park projects. She has been with the Parks and Recreation Department since 2001, spending two years as a clerical associate before moving to her current position.
Ms. Williams’ many years in her career have given her an immense respect for the New York City government community, and she is very proud of the position she has earned through her own patience, hard work and diligence. Throughout her career, she remained inspired by her mentor, Ethlynn D. Drake Porter, who encouraged her to succeed.
Looking to the future, Ms. Williams would like to be remembered as a loving mother and accomplished professional who is empathetic, compassionate and understanding and always treating people with humanity. Her career has been honored with awards and recognition, including the Face of Procurement for NYC in 2013 and being selected for The Ebony Award and Employee of the Month. In her spare time, she enjoys Broadway shows, flea markets and street fairs.
