Dawn ClaytonTitle: General Manager
Company: Thunder Valley Casino Resort
Location: Lincoln, CA United States

An expert in gaming, Dawn Clayton has been involved in the casino world since she took a job as a craps dealer in Atlantic City right after high school. More than three decades later, she has grown and progressed to be the general manager of Thunder Valley Casino Resort, a 4-diamond destination resort located in Northern California. In her role, Ms. Clayton is responsible for overseeing the entire property and all operations, including 2,500 team members.

Ms. Clayton was inspired on her professional journey by her mother, who always pushed her to work harder. She did not come from the best financial means, but her mother taught her to not let that hold her back and it didn’t. As a testament to her success, Ms. Clayton won the Rockland Chamber of Commerce Award in 2013, and was published in the newspaper under Women Who Mean Business. There were originally 150 nominees selected, which was then narrowed down to the top 15. Ms. Clayton is also an honored member of The International Women’s Leadership Association. She attributes her achievements to her approachability, thirst for learning, and her team members.

One thing Ms. Clayton takes a lot of pride in is giving back to the community. The highlight of her career was being recruited to go to the West Virginia Mountaineer Racetrack and Casino, where she was able to hire 600 people. Looking forward, Ms. Clayton intends to remain in the gaming industry and become the CEO of a company. She also hopes to become a force in charitable work and mentoring women.
