With a personal interest in the profession and a desire to do work that is meaningful to her, Christine Pizzulli joined the health care industry in 1978. She has always had a passion for helping people on the front line, as well as learning and implementing the business acumen that she has obtained throughout her career. As the director of clinical operations at UCLA Health, Ms. Pizzulli is able to do just that.
Before her current role was created for her, Ms. Pizzulli served as the director of nursing and operations at the Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center, where she helped create and implement the systems that are in use today. She turned the center into a level 1 trauma center, and helped developed 14 different specialties. If there was one thing Ms. Pizzulli could change about her industry, she would like to find more people to step out of their comfort zone and become leaders. Thusly, she would like to help mentor others. She would advise the younger generation of women entering the workforce to have a positive outlook and be genuine.
In addition to her health care career, Ms. Pizzulli also owns a winery, Pizzulli Family Winery, which she started from conception to completion. She sells her wine to various restaurants, and received the Women Wine Maker of the Year Award in 2012. Ms. Pizzulli has also been featured for her cooking, which she is very passionate about.
