Company: A Fitting Creation
Location: Clayton, Ind.
Dianne Frewer, Owner of A Fitting Creation, began her lifelong passion for sewing by helping her mother with dance and stage costumes for her dance recitals. In 1976 she started her sewing business. While she seldom turns down a project, she concentrates her skills in two areas: wedding attire for the entire wedding party, formal & evening attire as well as When Ready to Wear is Not! This includes everyday wear, suits, jackets, skirts, slacks and custom wear you design. Ms. Frewer was commissioned by the Indianapolis Museum of Art for a black velvet skirt which was displayed under a Bill Blass jacket. Some of the more unusual projects she has completed include soft-sided luggage and beverage cart covers for an airline’s elite charter service.
As an active member of the Association of Sewing and Design Professionals, Ms. Frewer attends their annual conferences and is an instructor at the conference. She is an office holder in the local ASDP chapter. In 2012 business had grown enough to merit 2 part-time employees. Blee Nighbert and Jan Feliciano came on board to assist in daily activities (editing printed communications, scheduling, basic sewing tasks, and assisting with fittings). Both employees are learning the fine art of couture sewing, both hand and machine. Ms. Frewer has recently devoted herself to sewing full time and is loving every minute of helping each customer make her dreams come true.
