Company: Saskatchewan Heavy Construction Association
Location: Regina, Saskatchewan
Seven years ago, Shantel Lipp began working with the Saskatchewan Heavy Construction Association board of directors on advocacy and strategic planning, and governance to increase the stability of the association. Now as president, she promotes and supports strong involvement in the association through committee opportunities and social and educational events. Ms. Lipp has grown the association from 165 members to 220 in under four years. She is known for saying, “If something big is happening, that’s where you’ll find our members working. If the earth moved, it was us.”
Initially, Ms. Lipp became involved in her profession because she has a background working with the municipal government of Regina, Saskatchewan in the area of urban programming. She was brought into this association to give a ‘fresh’ perspective. Today, she promotes quality, cost-effective, and socially responsible services for the public and its members and acts as primary advocate representing the association to federal, municipal, and provincial governments. In five years, Ms. Lipp will be involved in new business development and expanding her skill set.
Saskatchewan Heavy Construction Association is a Nonprofit organization that represents the heavy construction industry by actively promoting quality, cost-effective, and socially responsible services for the public and its members throughout the province of Saskatchewan.
