Company: Redland Tropical Gardens and Botanical Foundation
Location: Homestead, Fla.
Ms. Buster has been an ornamental floriculturist for 25 years. She started the Redland Tropical Gardens and Botanical Foundation 17 years ago. In 1995, her concept of sustainable world class gardens was to showcase the uniquely diverse area of farms and gardens in the Redland area, while preventing over impaction on the precious Everglades and the historic Redland agricultural district. In five years. Ms. Buster plans to continue on the same road, yet slow down a little.
Throughout her work-week, Ms. Buster serves as president, giving environmentally friendly tours of natural and cultivated resources, private gardens and county public gardens, and ensures quality control. She also provides education for residents, national and international visitors about tropical horticulture, tropical environment and tropical botany. Initially, Ms. Buster became involved in her profession because she is an ornamental floriculturist, and once she started to bring residents, medical professionals and international visitors to the gardens, it naturally evolved into a business.
