Ms. Schlafer’s strongest attributes are those that enable her to be an ‘outside the box’ thinker. She has an extensive background in building relationships with providers and colleagues in primary, secondary and tertiary care, and her knowledge of medical processes and nursing experience provides her with the insight into workflow and process across the multidisciplinary continuum of care. This enables her to communicate effectively not only with medical personnel, but also with information technology personnel crossing the gap that can exist between technical and operative patient care.

Ms. Schlafer has an excellent work ethic, and strong ability to perform individually and within a team environment. She became involved in her profession because she started as a bedside nurse and realized there was a gap that needed to be filled. She went back to school and got into informatics, and has always had the technological side to her. In five years, Ms. Schlafer plans to learn a different software and improve her skills.
