30 years ago, Dr. Khajuria became involved in her profession after being involved in research for 15 years, she wanted to utilize her biochemistry background to transition into the field of diagnostic medicine. Now, she is technical director and administrator at Lab Corp Clinicals. The highlight of her career was switching into the clinical biochemistry field, which allowed her to embark on a career that gave her independence and stability. Dr. Khajuria’s open approach, constant encouragement of laboratory personnel to take responsibilities in solving problems and her team building skills separate her from her peers.

Dr. Khajuria, a East Indian, is now a Canadian citizen. She has received a gold medal for earning the highest grade point average in zoology. She also received a merit scholarship. She spent 16 years in the field of research and four years completing postdoctoral research in Canada. She completed her thesis, entitled ‘Mechanism of Action of Piperine-A Bioavailability Enhancer,’ in 1996. In five years, Dr. Khajuria hopes to become a director of a diagnostic laboratory.
