After more than two decades of experience in business growth and program development, Ingrid Robinson is thriving with the Houston Minority Supplier Development Council (HMSDC). The nonprofit organization brings minority-owned businesses together with major corporations and connects them with major supply chains. As president, Ms. Robinson is responsible for developing strategy, recruiting corporate members and minority companies, educating elected officials, handling chief financial officer functions, and managing the board of directors. She is also in charge of negotiating agreements with Mexico and other countries.
As a woman in today’s world, Ms. Robinson attributes her success to her creativity and results-driven mindset. She holds an MBA in general management and business administration, and has worked for an elected official handling small businesses. She also started her own minority business before becoming the president of the HMSDC last year.
Ms. Robinson is a member of the Small Business Advisory Committee and Great Black Speakers. Looking to the future, she hopes to continue to grow and lead the HMSDC by implementing new programs and allowing the many businesses it helps to grow internationally.
