After more than three decades of experience in health care, Dr. Jenny C. McCloskey is currently serving as a sexual health physician and venereologist, where she is responsible for researching and treating human papillomavirus (HPV). She became involved in her profession after realizing she had a knack for the industry. Over the years, she has become an expert in sexual health and the research and treatment of HPV in the genital tract.

To prepare for her endeavors, Dr. McCloskey earned a Ph.D. and Master of Public Health, both from the University of Western Australia. She also completed her medical degree at the University of Melbourne in 1976, and has a Diploma of Venereology. After obtaining her degrees, she gained extensive experience as a medical registrar at the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, before eventually settling into her current position at Royal Perth Hospital.

Throughout the course of her career, Dr. McCloskey has experienced many honors, including sharing the Australian Medical Association Prize in Public Health, and being an elected fellow of the Australasian College of Venereologists and the Royal College of Physicians. In addition to her work at the hospital, she also travels throughout Western Australia, lecturing and teaching health professionals, community groups and aboriginal communities.

Looking to the future, Dr. McCloskey intends to continue doing more of the same type of work. She also hopes to gain recognition for her research of HPV. In correlation with her career, she is a member of the Australian Medical Association and ASHM. She also supports the efforts of Conservation Greenpeace, ACF and IFAW. In her free time, she enjoys skiing and qigong.
