Pastor Beverly J. Renford

Title: Chief Executive Officer, Pastor
Company: Greater Bethlehem Temple Pentecostal Church
Location: Rochester, NY United States

In 1969, Beverly Renford’s parents started the Greater Bethlehem Temple Pentacostal Church, so getting ordained as a pastor was a natural progression for her. In fact, she can often be heard saying, “Momma and Daddy introduced me to their God, but I took it further and now He’s my God.” In addition to her work with the family church, she also garnered experience heading The Children’s Place Family Daycare. Ms. Renford prepared for her endeavors by earning Child Development Associate Credential and an associate degree in early childhood education, and graduating from the Parent Leadership Training Institute. Currently, she is looking to further her knowledge by pursing a bachelor’s degree in English childhood inclusive special education.

Ms. Renford is one of 15 siblings, and she has eight children of her own, as well as five grandchildren, so choosing a career path where should can help people, especially children, is her calling. She loves working with people, and professionally, she hopes to grow and to continue to help strengthen women from childbearing years to seniors. She knows what it’s like to be a woman in a man’s world, so she wants to do all she can to help her fellow women.

With two decades of experience under her belt, Ms. Renford attributes her success to her communication and listening skills, in addition to her ability to be sensitive to the needs of others. She participates with a variety of initiatives in her community, where she is able to advocate for people and be the voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. She wants to be remembered for her passion and deep love for people. As a testament to her success, Ms. Renford was inducted as a member of the English Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta, on Scholars Day 2017. She is also a recent member of HonorSociety.org.

When she is not working, Ms. Renford enjoys traveling and participating in weekend retreats.
