With 10 years of experience in bio energy technology and bio fuel technology, Debbie Chen is the perfect fit for her new position as the business development client manager for the Australian Renewable Energy Company (ARENA), which provides funding for renewable energy projects. In this capacity, she is responsible for serving as the face of ARENA, working with supporters to help them understand key issues affecting the sector, representing the organization at national conferences, and engaging in cross-government discussions. She also works closely with applicants from contact phase to funding agreement, and provides recommendations to the board.

Ms. Chen received a graduate certificate in social impact from the Melbourne Business School. She also has a Bachelor of Commerce in marketing and management, and a bachelor’s degree in information systems. She started her career in corporate banking, but as she completed further studies in sustainability, she took an interest in renewable energy and corporate sustainability.

Looking to the future, Ms. Chen plans on continuing to develop within the government space. She also plans to start her own social enterprise to continue helping society.
