Passionate and dedicated, Tamara Smith-Jones currently serves the founder and chief managing mentor for Helping Others Maintain Earth, Inc., or H.O.M.E. The nonprofit organization collaborates with partner organizations to mentor, consult, volunteer and donate towards the improvement and wellness of its communities by actively making a difference in the world. Through the organization, dedicated mentors help youth and adults tackle specific life-changing events like marriage and divorce, substance abuse, single parenting and spirituality, to name a few. H.O.M.E. also partners with other nonprofit organizations to increase responsibility, social awareness and societal obligation with the community and environment.
To prepare for this career, Ms. Smith-Jones holds a bachelor’s degree in business management. She is also a certified project management professional, and holds certification in change management, change management training and enterprise change management. Further, she is pursuing global project management certification.
Ms. Smith-Jones’ commitment to her organization and the community has not gone unrecognized. She was named Woman of the Year in 2010 by the National Association of Professional Women, as well as awarded the association’s 2011 Legacy Award and 2013 Woman of Outstanding Leadership award. She has also won a number of other awards and recognition for her work within her Northern California community.
