Prior to her current position as the manager of risk and safety operations in internal services for the City of Aurora, Renee Pettinato Mosley worked as a risk manager for the State of Wyoming and the City of Cheyenne. She now uses her 23 years of experience in her current position, where she is responsible for managing city portfolio projects, handling casualty and environmental insurance, reviewing all city contracts and lender agreements and collaborating with in-house and outside counsel. She also works with public entities on a variety of issues.

Ms. Pettinato Mosley attributes her success to her natural curiosity and her perseverance, dedication and determination to succeed. One of the highlights of her career was creating a safety culture in the city on a small budget, and achieving a reduction of worker’s compensation costs by approximately $350,000 in one year. She also feels her affiliation with the Public Risk Management Association and Risk and Insurance Management Society has provided her with invaluable advice and counsel throughout her profession.
