Backed by three decades of experience in her industry, Amy Ash is the current owner and executive chef of a fine dining restaurant in the Anchorage, Alaska area. Prior to her current position, she was a landscape architect, environmental scientist and resource economist. When she retired, she became inspired by the cooking shows she enjoyed watching and became interested in becoming a chef and owning her own restaurant, and thus, Chez Montane was opened. She is responsible for overseeing all daily business operations for the restaurant, as well as serving as the executive chef. In addition to being a restaurant, Chez Montane also boasts catering and party planning services.
Ms. Ash received a Master of Science in natural resources and environment. In addition to owning, running and cooking for her own restaurant, she is also an expert in landscape design, gardening, interior architect design, art and photography. She is also a volunteer for her local hospice facility. Her past experiences have earned a Sigma Scholar award and a landscape architect award.
As a woman in today’s world, Ms. Ash attributes her success to her persistence and dedication. She hopes that this success will follow her into the future of her career. Looking forward, she would like to connect with other people in the food industry and restaurant business, as well as have her own show on Food Network. When she is not working, she enjoys reading, cooking, gardening and art.
