A genuine interest in the field of medicine led Susan Mogus to devote the past 32 years to her career in medical technology. She currently uses the expertise she’s garnered in chemistry and laboratory procedures at Trinitas Regional Medical Center, which offers inpatient and outpatient services. As the lead technologist for the company, Ms. Mogus is responsible for performing core laboratory duties, including chemistry, hematology and urinalysis, and rapid testing for HIV and RVS. She also trains and mentors others in her field, and understands the need to give people the tools they need to do their job correctly.
Prior to her role with Trinitas, Ms. Mogus was given the opportunity to run her own stat lab and oversee all functions of the lab for the hospital. She has also written CAP procedures, has been involved in inspections, and is experienced in all aspects of safety. Ms. Mogus has even written MSDS manuals. As a woman in today’s world, she attributes her success to her caring nature, dedication, and life experiences.
Ms. Mogus prepared for her career by earning a Bachelor of Science in medical technology from Slippery Rock University in 1984 and by becoming certified as a medical technologist. Further, she maintains affiliation with the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Ms. Mogus also supports and raises funds for Hockey Kicks Cancer.
