Looking for a career that would allow her to help others, Michelle Baker started her professional journey by earning a Master of Arts in human development counseling from Bradley University. She then became a licensed clinical professional counselor, a certified alcohol and drug abuse counselor and a national certified counselor. She uses this experience in her role as a child, adolescent and family counselor for the Antioch Group, a counseling agency that offers contemporary Christian counseling and psychological services.
Prior to her work with the Antioch Group, Ms. Baker worked in a substance abuse treatment facility, a domestic violence shelter, and within the foster care system. She also has experience working with sexual abuse victims. Additionally, Ms. Baker specializes in emotional and physical abuse, child behavior problems, eating disorders, attachment and bonding issues, anxiety and depression, ACOA issues, codependency and group and family therapy. She can also perform substance abuse evaluations. Currently, she is focused on treating children from birth to 18 years of age, as well as working with their families.
Aside from her work, Ms. Baker, her husband and their six children are active parishioners at the St. Ann Catholic Church.
