Title: Contracting Officer
Company: United States General Services Administration
Location: Fort Worth, TX United States
With experience in business and administration, as well as more than two decades of experience in government contracting, Peggy Drumgoole has attained an unlimited warrant to sign contracts on behalf of the government. She currently works for The United Sates General Services Administration, which is a government agency that provides acquisition services and management policies. As a contracting officer, Ms. Drumgoole is responsible for negotiating government contracts, reviewing work to ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations and monitoring daily offers from vendors. She must also evaluate technical information, manage price analysis and execute negotiations and award contracts.
Ms. Drumgoole became involved in her profession as a result of her experience as a secretary for the Department of Defense. A lieutenant colonel suggested that she would do well if she entered the contracting field. Now an expert in team leadership, she attributes her success to her hard work, education, perseverance and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. Her dedication has not gone unrecognized, either. She has received an Excellence Award from the General Services Administration, a Below the Zone Award from the United States Air Force and several performance appraisal cash awards. She was also named Civilian of the Quarter by the United States Air Force.
To prepare for her career, Ms. Drumgoole received a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in management from Strayer University. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of the District of Columbia. In addition, she holds level III certification in government contracting, and is a certified contracting officer and a level II certified project manager in federal acquisition and contracting.
Outside of her work, Ms. Drumgoole is a member of the National Contract Management Association. She is also a past member of the Blacks in Government. She supports her local church, and enjoys reading and spending time with her two children when she is not working.
