A veteran of the technology industry, Mary Waddick continues to thrive as a senior software engineer II for Raytheon Technical Services Company, a technological company specializing in defense, security and civil markets. She prepared for a career in technology by earning a Bachelor of Science in computer technology from Indiana University and Purdue University. Additionally, she is working on receiving a master’s degree in information assurance, which she hopes to have completed by December 2016.

In her current position, which she has held for 20 years, Ms. Waddick works as a tech lead and software developer. She was heavily involved with the DIACAP process and making sure that software could be installed on the NMCI network. Additionally, she performs the set-up of equipment for squadrons being deployed, including the first squadron of Ospreys that went to Afghanistan.

Ms. Waddick’s extensive experience has made her an expert in databases, Installshield, Ada, C++, Fortran, Cobol, Java, HTML, PHP and information assurance. Outside of her career, her proudest accomplishment has been balancing being a single parent with a career. She is also very proud of her son, who played football at Marian University, and is now coaching football there. More than anything, she wants to be remembered as a happy person with a good work ethic, as well as for her family and son, who hold a special place in her heart.

When she is not working, she enjoys reading, camping and watching her son play football. Ms. Waddick is also a member of the National Association of Professional Women, The International Women’s Leadership Association, Indiana Celebration of Women in Computing and Cyberjitzu.
