With 40 years of experience in fashion and business, Rose Ann Cruz is currently the vice president of production and sourcing for Basic Resources, Inc, a fashion and apparel company that manufactures, markets and distributes many of today’s leading legwear, underwear and loungewear brands. In her current position, Ms. Cruz is responsible for order production and delivery, quality control and price negotiations. She is also a member of the American Apparel and Footwear Association.

Ms. Cruz attributes her success to her strong business analysis skills, her ability to see things long-term and the responsibility she feels to get the job done. She is inspired by her male mentors who helped her to embrace her talents, as well as her mother, who was always encouraging. She is very proud of her ability to be a leader and decision maker within Basic Resources, as well as the work she has done to take a major company within her industry and place the business in a socially responsible position. For example, she has worked with “Fruit of the Loom” and helped the company work toward taking care of childcare and women’s wellness.

When Ms. Cruz first began her career, she felt the need to prove herself and her worth. Now, however, thanks to her extensive experience, professionalism and concern for the company’s overseas workers, she commands respect from all her colleagues and employees. She enjoys the role she is in now, and plans on mentoring the younger women coming up in the business. She wants to use her many years of experience to help them succeed. Ms. Cruz wants to be remembered for her sense of fairness, ability to teach others and her dedication and loyalty to all things and people in her life.
