With 22 years in real estate and 8 years in her current position, Tina Suihkonen initially began her career as a paralegal, but eventually ventured into residential and commercial real estate. As the market began to change, she saw the need for commercial foreclosures and progressed into its niche market, creating Beacon Default Management.

As a woman in today’s world, Ms. Suihkonen feels that her drive to want more for herself has contributed to her success in a male-dominated industry. When she went to a conference 15 years ago, it was 99 percent male, but that number has changed to 75 percent. She plans to continue to grow her business in the years to come.

The advice Tina can share with the younger generation of women entering the workforce is to educate yourself and stay involved with what is going on in your industry.  She urges young women to become a resource that people can come to. Ms. Suihkonen participates in the Commercial Real Estate Women where she is a member and on the board of directors for the Orange County chapter. She is also on the board of the United Trustees Association.
