An information technology professional with more than three decades of experience, Karla Tucker specializes in database operations and architecture, data warehousing and security, and compliance. She was drawn to the industry because of the opportunities it offers, and over the years, she has utilized her skills to direct teams responsible for mission-critical database systems for major hospitality and gaming corporations. This led to Ms. Tucker’s current role as the executive director of strategic programs at MGM Resorts International, which uses a culmination of her knowledge. She is particularly proud of the team of database administrators she built and the operation model she established to support hundreds of applications. Her goal is to continue to get better at what she does and be the best she can be for the company.

To prepare for her career, Ms. Tucker earned a Master of Science in management and information technology management from Colorado Technical University and a Bachelor of Science in computers and information systems from Northwestern State University. She is also certified in Microsoft. Ms. Tucker attributes her success to her family’s support. Her journey is motivated by the sense of accomplishment she gets from providing value and being part of bigger.

When Ms. Tucker isn’t working, she volunteers for JDRF Diabetes Foundation and Habitat for Humanity, and is a member of The International Women’s Leadership Association. She also enjoys refurbishing houses and completing home improvements.
