For many years, Karen Reid was an extremely successful businesswoman. She thrived on training, guiding and mentoring people, and upon reading an article about how business marketing can fit into education, she decided to use her talents to help children. Since then, Ms. Reid has spent the past six years serving as the administrative dean of Orange County Public Schools. She has been inspired by the students she serves; when she sees the difference she makes in their future, it validates what she does and why. Looking forward, Ms. Reid hopes to continue to grow professionally and to eventually do consulting work. She attributes her ongoing success to her ability to understand her target audience and communicate at all levels.

To prepare for her career, Ms. Reid earned a bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in marketing and received a certification from Orange County Public Schools to teach. She is also pursuing a master’s degree in educational leadership, which she feels is among her greatest accomplishments. On a more personal level, Ms. Reid is very proud of being a mom and running a marathon. When she isn’t working, she supports and volunteers at St. John’s Vianney’s Catholic Church. Ms. Reid would like to be remembered for inspiring others to achieve their goals and be the best they can be.
