Dr. Anna Sadowska Duszka has wanted to be a physician for as long as she can remember. She was inspired to enter the medical profession by her mother, who was a nurse, and worked hard to achieve her goals. Now, with more than two decades of experience behind her, Dr. Duszka has spent the past seven years serving Pediatrics of New York as a physician. The medical practice serves children from newborn to 21 years of age, and is affiliated with Mount Sinai Medical Center, which ensures that they are up-to-date with all aspects of the field.
The biggest challenge Dr. Duszka had to overcome was moving from Poland to the United States. She had already graduated from the Wroclaw Academy of Medicine with an MD and completed much of her residency at the same institution in Poland, but she had to essentially start over when she immigrated. Dr. Duszka believes that many people would have quit then, but she was determined to practice medicine. She ended up triumphant, and completed all of the requirements necessary to finish her residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York.
In Dr. Duszka’s free time, she enjoys reading, skiing, and hiking in Pennsylvania. She also maintains affiliation with the American Academy of Pediatrics. As a testament to her expertise, Dr. Duszka was published in Polish medical journals and was a medical correspondent on Polish radio. She attributes her success to doing what she loves.
