An open and honest person, Julie Rankin listens to her customers’ needs first, and worries about the business later. She started New Hype Solutions in 2010 as a side job, but transferred to it full time as it has grown. The marketing and advertising company provides embroidery and screen printing for promotional products, like apparel, pens, bags and desk items. Ms. Rankin loves the fact that New Hype Solutions is small and close-knit; she works with local people, and is able to build relationships with her customers. She considers this to be her greatest accomplishment.
Ms. Rankin prepared for her career by working for Kimberly Clark in their Huggies department for 18 years. Her job eventually got outsourced, but not before she had accumulated enough on-the-job training and experience to start her own company. She is inspired by her husband of 33 years, who has always been her biggest supporter, even when she followed her entrepreneurial vision and ventured out on her own. The biggest challenge Ms. Rankin faced was keeping up with the younger generations and their technology when promoting her business. Looking forward, she hopes that her 28-year-old son will eventually take over New Hype Solutions.
