Title: Chief Executive Officer
Company: InfoEd Global
Location: Champions Gate, FL United States
When Kimberly Johnson first took over InfoEd Global, a technology company that provides computer software to support electronic research administration, it wasn’t in great shape. After 12 months under her leadership, the company has completely turned around. Ms. Johnson is proud of helping to bring the InfoEd Global to where it is. She is skilled at getting things moving and ensuring staff production while staying in the background and keeping clients happy, which is just what the business needed. Presently, Ms. Johnson’s role includes overseeing the short and long-term success of the operational goals of the company, and planning and directing policies, objectives, initiatives and development.
Ms. Johnson chose this career path after she graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems because she found the field interesting. She started out as a developer nearly three decades ago, and went on from there. Ms. Johnson roles have included upgrading servers and working with clients, and oftentimes, require staying after hours and on weekends.
The biggest challenge Ms. Johnson faced was being a woman in business internationally. There are countries and systems in which she cannot speak because of her gender, prevalently the Middle East. Ms. Johnson would also like to see more conformity in how research administration is run. It is very different internationally than it is in the U.S. Changes are complex, and come often. When they do, Ms. Johnson has to make sure her software follows all of the rules and regulations. She finds inspiration in her children and grandchildren, however, and hopes to be remembered as dedicated, loyal, and hard working. Ms. Johnson is a member of The International Women’s Leadership Association.
