Cisneros, RaquelTitle: Manager
Company: Rio Grande TexMex
Location: Hutto, TX United States

Originally from Mexico City, Raquel Cisneros moved to the U.S. and got a job at a restaurant. In the course of the 20 years she spent in the industry, she held every position imaginable and gained a ton of invaluable experience. Ms. Cisneros eventually decided to open up her own restaurant, Rio Grande TexMex, with her husband, Mario Maldonado. The family-run, Mexican culinary destination has thrived, and is poised to be a contender for one of Central Texas’ Best Restaurants. All of the recipes are authentic, and every plate on the menu sells consistently, as do the award-winning margaritas. As the manager, Ms. Cisneros works seven days a week and very long hours so that her customers can experience the best dining experience. She believes that, for a business to be successful, it is important to keep an eye on it.

As a woman in today’s world, Ms. Cisneros attributes her success to her dedication, passion, and faith. She learned to speak English on her own, and is very hands-on in everything that she does. This has helped her become an effective leader, which she considers to be one of her greatest strengths.

Inspired by becoming an entrepreneur and owning her own business, Ms. Cisneros intends to continue to expand and build new locations. She also loves to help young people in the community. Ms. Cisneros mentors them, gives them a job, and helps them get on the right path. Additionally, she is very active in her church, and is a member of The International Women’s Leadership Association. Ms. Cisneros hopes to be remembered for providing good food and service to the community.
