To DeAnne Boegli, a career in public relations means the chance to communicate and have every day be different. She has been in the telecommunications business for the past two decades now, and currently serves TDS Telecommunications Corporation. Currently, Ms. Boegli is focusing her team on learning how to fully utilize social media tools and build a strong strategy for the future of our organization. Social media has brought a whole new meaning to the world of public relations; online reputation management is now critical. Ms. Boegli has kept on top of the trends, however, and enjoys leading the company forward in this area. In her role at TDS, she has also guided communications for more than nine mergers and acquisitions.

In addition to her prowess in the public relations world, Ms. Boegli is also an entrepreneur. She owns and directs the Brodhead Dance Academy, which employs six teachers and offers dance classes to more than 250 students. Ms. Boegli’s unique ability to utilize both dancing and psychology to train young dancers has made her academy a success over the past 15 years. Additionally, after teaching for a few years and noticing her own needs, she developed a set of educational posters for dance teachers to use in their studios. Relevé, LLC, was founded in 2005, and continues to sell posters online.

The biggest challenge Ms. Boegli faced was balancing her work and her life. Over the years, however, she was able to gain a flexible work schedule that allowed her to go to her children’s games, start a business and continue to grow in her role at her full-time job. Ms. Boegli’s inspiration comes from her upbringing. She was raised on a dairy farm, so she grew up learning what hard work was all about. To prepare for her career, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a certificate in advanced management and leadership from the Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Ms. Boegli’s goals for the future are to stay engaged in her own life, to be part of something bigger than herself, and to make the best even better. To that end, she participates in a lot of volunteer work in her area. Ms. Boegli founded Forward Brodhead to help her community find focus and move in a new direction. She also sat on the board of directors for the Madison Ballet for five years, and currently serves on the Brodhead Community Foundation Board. Additionally, Ms. Boegli supports organizations such as the Red Cross and Traveling Tutus Inc. She hopes to be remembered for making other people smile.
