Company: Pfabio Accounting and Payroll LLC
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA United States

Armed with a deep understanding of accounting and business, Sonja Pfab decided to start her own company five years ago. Pfabio Accounting and Payroll LLC is an accounting firm that helps small-business owners with their bookkeeping, accounting, and payroll needs on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. They specialize in QuickBooks, and offer beginner and advanced QuickBook training. Ms. Pfab considers being the sole proprietor of the business challenging, but she is inspired by her love for what she does. She enjoys meeting new people and helping businesses succeed.

Ms. Pfab prepared for her career by earning a Bachelor of Science in accounting with a minor in business from Mount Mercy College (now Mount Mercy University) in 1988. She is also a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, and maintains memberships with the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers and the National Association of Certified QuickBook Advisors. Continuing to learn every day is something she truly believes everyone should be doing.

Prior to opening her own business, Ms. Pfab worked for a number of other businesses in various capacities. Most recently, she was the assistant controller and HR manager for Terry-Durin Company. Ms. Pfab also served as the bookkeeper for Dale McGrath Construction and the accounts payable manager for Iowa Fluid Power. When she isn’t working, she enjoys music and spending time with her family
