Although Dr. Becky R. Martin is retired from her position as a legislator for the South Carolina House of Representatives, she continues to serve as a realtor and consultant through Becky R. Martin, Real Estate. As a legislator, she was responsible for working with her constituents, listening to the needs of her district, and improving the quality of life for her community. Dr. Martin is a Republican who represents South Carolina District 8, which encompasses all of Anderson County. In the real estate world, she is a top agent and consultant in her area.

Dr. Martin earned a Ph.D. in human services from South University in 2005, and an associate degree in business administration and data processing from Columbia Junior College of business in 1969. She is affiliated with the Southern Legal Counsel, the American Legal Exchange Council, the National Association of REALTORS, and the National Association for Female Executives. Additionally, Dr. Martin is a member of the sub-committee of public works and roadways, which is part of the Education and Public Works Committee. She is also the former vice chairperson of the National Foundation for Women Legislators, and served in the role from 2002 to 2003.
