For almost eight years now, Donna Gomez has lent her expertise in human resources to Paragon Bank. There, she handles staffing, payroll and benefits, and administers to 401(k) plans, employee files and leave programs, and systems administration. Ms. Gomez began her career with Paragon as a client service specialist, but through hard work, passion for her field, and professional excellence, she earned the position of VP/HR generalist. In addition to her daily tasks, Ms. Gomez coordinates various employee development programs, heads up orientation and provides administrative support to company executives when needed.

Prior to her work with Paragon, Ms. Gomez served as a branch manager for SOUTHBank, a role she originally assumed in 1998. She is an alumna of Wesleyan College, through which she gradated suma cum laude in 2013 with a degree in business administration. Additionally, Ms. Gomez holds an associate degree in business from Durham Technical Community College and a general banking diploma from the American Institute of Banking. She is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) through the HR Certification Institute, and holds SHRM-CP status through the Society for Human Resource Management.

For her efforts with Paragon, Ms. Gomez with presented with the Core Value Award in 2014. She is directly involved with Susan G. Komen for the Cure North Carolina Triad as a team captain, and is a member of Raleigh-Wake Human Resources Management Association, the Society for Human Resource Management and The International Women’s Leadership Association.
