Currently serving as Associate Professor of Sociology, International Studies and Environmental Science at Oklahoma State University, Beth Caniglia continues to focus her research on the institutional forces that facilitate effective and just environmental policy making, especially the role that non-state actors, social movements. She is passionate about environmental and climate change, and went through many years of college to follow her dreams, and enhance the profession with more female vision. Ms. Caniglia intends to complete her live as a scientist who works with others for climate justice.
Ms. Caniglia also serves on the Indigenous Peoples Climate Change Working Group, where she is part of a team that is working to strengthen group research between Native and non-Native scholars in ways that protect the intellectual and biophysical rights of tribes. In 2009, and was honored as a global climate leader by the Ecological Society of America and American Sociological Association. This all began for Ms. Caniglia when she earned Best Paper in 2005.
