Drawing upon 22 years of experience, Robin Whitson continues to contribute to the financial arena through her role as application development manager for Arvest Bank. Having grown from a small bank to a network of banks, Arvest is dedicated to focusing on the customer above all else, and Ms. Whitson supports this mission in her hard work for the company. She chose her career path because of her background in information technology, and she feels that her professional drive has contributed to her success.

Ms. Whitson worked hard to get to where she is now in her career. Overcoming the challenge of being recognized as an equal in a male-dominated industry, she has expertly honed skills in areas such as software development, requirements analysis, sharepoint development and information technology strategy. Ms. Whitson has also fostered abilities in team management, software documentation, disaster recovery, enterprise architecture and numerous other relevant areas. She considers her greatest strengths to be her leadership abilities and her acute knowledge of the agile methodology techniques for software development. In the past, she has served Arvest Bank as director of information services and information technology services.

Currently, Ms. Whitson supervises a team of project managers, software engineers and software engineer supervisors, managing around three projects per month. As a hard-working professional who understands her job as well as her male counterparts, she hopes to be remembered for being a leader and sharing her knowledge with those around her. Ms. Whitson also hopes to continue to grow and mentor others, and advises other women entering the workforce to stay focused and believe in themselves. In her free time, she enjoys riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
