Rosaleen Chun has been practicing anesthesiology since 2001, attributing her success in the healthcare field to dedication and focus. She currently practices through her own company, RChunProfCorp, and acts as a representative at the University of Calgary’s department of anesthesia. Also passionate about educational services, Dr. Chun works as a clinical associate professor at the University of Calgary and Alberta Health Services, and wants to help bring healthcare and education to the third world to address health crises in underdeveloped areas. She is interested in mentoring as well and actively mentors younger female physicians and residents who need help navigating the work-life balance, encouraging them toward successful careers.
Interested in healthcare and education from a young age, Dr. Chun earned a Doctor of Medicine in anesthesiology from the University of Toronto, a Master of Health Sciences in epidemiology from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Toronto, with certification in perioperative transesophageal echocardiography. She pursues further field-relevant knowledge through her memberships with such organizations as the Alberta Medical Association, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and the Canadian Medical Association. Dr. Chun’s interest in supporting the advancement of developing countries exhibits itself in her involvement with Hope for the Nations, a nonprofit that helps thousands of children in 21 countries worldwide. In the future, she plans to continue in her medical, educational and entrepreneurial endeavors.
